Firefighter Retires After 40 Years of Service
Jake Ruane is retiring after more than 40 years of fire service to Malden.

Malden firefighter Jake Ruane is retiring after more than 40 years of fire service to Malden.
Mr. Ruane, who grew up in Malden, served the U.S. Army as a Paratrooper in the Vietnam War upon graduating from Malden Catholic High School in 1965. Jake was hired by the Malden Fire Department in 1972. Jake has no immediate plans following his retirement.
“I’m going to take it easy” said Jake, “It’s been my pleasure serving the citizens of Malden for the last 40 years”.
