Lieutenant Commander Phillip Queeg, no? Although I suppose Mr Queeg didn't screw up a SAFER grant for about $800K.

No, that was the Mayor who didn't take the SAFER grant. Thank you for your service, Chief Murphy. Thankfully you don't have to take the abuse from this city any more. It is disgraceful how the admin and the council treat our first responders by denying them the personnel and equipment to keep us safe. Have a wonderful retirement.

Annie, I believe what Mr Evale is referring to is the current grant, and only the retiring Chief knows why. According to those close the coffee shop, the current Mayor has been supportive of our public safety depts. The former wasn't and didn't accept grants for either the police or fire.
