My pride in being a Malden resident just increased after the rapid response to take action- just a couple days after Rachel Brown's outstanding article bringing to the forefront, the need to stop the violence! She, along with others who commented... WERE HEARD! Thank you Mr. D'Arcangelo!

Kids are growing up so poor today & parents for the most part - are giving 110% EVERY SINGLE DAY to put food on the table - nevermind " back-to-school" clothes shopping -( a given when I went to school- now a luxury. ) The teen center is an outstanding idea & I feel confident it will be a safe haven & a place of fun/ productivity for our youth.
*And lets encourage our kids to attend the meeting with us so we can hear their voices of fear, concern & their needs &
ideas ...

Looks like the man is making a move. Could this be the next mayor? Time to start the campaign. The Red Sox thought they had it with Bobby V, well, they are making a change too, so can't Malden.

How can you have a community forum from 9AM-12PM on a Tuesday? Maybe try doing it during non-working hours? Seriously?

I agree with Bobby, how can a meeting on a Tuesday from 9-12 be helpful for the residents of the city when many of us are working during this time? Is there a note-taker to capture what will be discussed during this meeting? I think this is a great initiative just curious how the timing of the meeting was decided upon. I am a huge supporter of joining the community together through public forums and perhaps a meeting of this importance should take place when many of the community can attend.

Great idea, but what about a Community Stance against the Violence, I see nothing wrong organizing a Community March so the kids can be a part of it, Have it on a Weeknight start the march from the Skate park to McDonald Stadium, have speakers who will let the residents know what the plan of action is

Political grandstanding is always funny. Good time for a meeting, well thought out :)

So is this a Rotary event or a political event?

Rotary. It really has nothing to do with the city. It is just a way to bring awareness to the club and get membership. They do not want to hear from the working taxpayers if the meeting is at 9am. No one should ever use the unfortunate events to promote a club. Other then the city clerk who else is in it? Sick.

Why the terrible time for this?

We should re-enact the police academy movie when the city has the big political crime prevention carnival and the gang of thugs show up and trash it until the police with Hightower and Tackleberry finally chase them away. Do we have a Malden Officer that can play real life Capt Lessard. Now we just need to find a gang in Malden and that could be tough.

I made the time work for me . This was a well organized event with great healthy debate. Thank you for hosting this event and reaching out to the community . I am hopeful that this is the beginning of something good. I'm not ready to give up on Malden.
