Both MBTA and Malden Police responded to a reported trespasser struck by a train in the city around 8:40 p.m. Tuesday night, hospitalizing a victim with non-life threatening injuries.

Police received a report that an inbound Orange Line train had struck a trespasser right before the Mountain Ave. bridge near the Malden Center stop.

Upon arrival, they found a 22 year old male with his lower extremities stuck in the train, about a half mile before the stop.

It is not clear why he was on the tracks. MBTA police continue to investigate.
