Busy Weekend for Malden Police

Police respond to a shooting, stabbing and alleged gun threats at a party this weekend, making two arrests.

 

The Malden Police Department had a busy weekend.

Beyond the reported shooting near Harvard St. Park Sunday morning, officers also responded to a serious stabbing on Lisbon St. and an alleged gun threat made at a Bryant St. party. 

 

Lisbon St. 

Officers responded to a Lisbon St. apartment building for a woman reportedly "bleeding profusely" outside. 

A male emerged, and was found to have a a knife in his possession. 
Police arrested Daryl Wilson, 49 of 65 Lisbon St., was arrested and charged with armed assault with intent to murder. 

The female victim was sent to the hospital with serious injuries. 

"It is (unclear) if the victim and suspect lived together," Lt. Det. Marc Gatcomb wrote.

"The end result of this unfortunate domestic disturbance was a tragic violent physical altercation in which the female victim received serious injuries."


Bryant St. 

Police responded to a loud party at 265 Bryant St. just after midnight Saturday, and were told by several witnesses that a male had pointed a gun at those in attendance. 

Witnesses directed police to a vehicle outside, which sped away when approached. 

"Officers attempted to follow the vehicle as it fled the scene," Gatcomb wrote. "Officers lost sight of the vehicle but was able to observe and stop the vehicle in Everett a short time later."

Laura Tranghese, 25, of Wilmington, was arrested for allegedly failing to stop for a police officer.

No gun was recovered from the car.

What happened on Lebanon street tonight in ward 6? A couple of Revere police cruisers were doing some manner of loud bright police business near the flower shop area outside Maplewood square a short while ago.
What are Revere police busting people in Malden for anyway? No Malden police anywhere in sight as I drove by.
