Tax dollars weren't spent everyone spread the word through Facebook and Twitter besides it doesn't matter if tax dollars are spent on finding someone runaway or not if you runaway you are still in danger by taking a risk I am so happy that her parents have good news!!!

they should charge people when their kid runs away more than 3 times. Like when people go into the snowcountry when they shouldnt and the helicopter has to go find them. I dont know if this girl ran away or what but when kids keep doing it? And yest taxdollars were spent. Just like when a fire alarm box is pulled.

I do feel for her parents , not knowing were your child is, but they also now need to step up and hold her accountable and do community service and send her to mandatory couseling, obviously she has troubles to keep doing this.

You might want to stop and think about how miserable and alone this girl must have been to feel like her only option was to run away before you complain about spending tax dollars to help locate a kid. I hope she doesn't see any of these ignorant comments, because seeing adults complaining about money spent to help bring her home will probably make her feel worse about herself, and that's very uncool.

This girl has had her share if troubles griwing up BUT she does have people who love her and want to care for her and she is refusing to obey and cooperate within the family unit. Does she need help? Yes of course but she is old enough to no right from wrong and to have her family sick with worry as well as an entire city worried , was so very wrong . Shame on her!

If the young lady was missing because she ran away there needs to be a harsh punishment. There are problems within the home if she feels she needs to run away and the first problem is a lack of respect for her parents. That is down right awful to put a parent through. If your unhappy go to a relative or friends parent for help, ask an officer for help. To have her family and city worried for a week is uncalled for. She obviously needs some help of some sort, but not knowing her I will just say that I hope she gets the help needed and realizes running won't get you far. She is home unharmed which is a relife.

This is what I have to say I have read all the posts and each one has said she has ran away before so yes there is a problem in that home first everyone must go together for help as a family to fix the problem next you can't punish her because she will only get mad and do it again and yes 100% are tax money was spent on looking for her and time taking away from police doing other things yes I am happy she is home safe anything could of happened to her in this world a lot of bad things we have seen it on TV and it is sick but the one thing I do have a problem is the police are tight lip on what happened and were she was and how they found her I hate when they keep you hanging on the story well there it is my side of the story

Nice that she has returned safely however she should be grounded for the rest of the school year! It was selfish and careless to put her family through such agony of not knowing if she was dead or alive!
I careless about the tax dollars if that's what brought her home safely.

What proff is there tax dollars were spent? It was my understanding an Amber Alert was not even issued. If tax dollars were spent then by community service she should work back the money. Obviously she is in pain if she has run away before. She needs support not people screaming and yelling. Supportive counsling with her family, some punishment and tough love. Family is all you have, but sometimes family is hard depending on what takes place within the home. We know nothing expect she ran away before, we don't know the problems she has, the pain she may be suffering or any details of her home life. So to judge a young gal is not right, she however did show dispespect and I still stand by my statement of going to a freinds parent or close relative and not running.

It's nice to see that just about everyone who was frothing at the mouth about the lack of an Amber Alert is lining up ready to give this girl a good talking-to, completely with finger wagging. That'll show her.

U people take an issue at hand and always turn it to a form of financial issue or selfish attitude. How about don't care about the money it was spent for a great cause , child found and as far as the family issue don't cast stones .Foucus on moving foward and giving positive feed back .Great job for the dad on finding his daughter and tryn very hard to manage a rebellious daughter .

I'm sorry I pay taxes too. I'd rather my tax dollars go toward finding a young girl then the other nonsense they are spent on. Our youth is our future. Bless her heart, I hope she finds her way. Glad she is safe and sound! Her family can finally rest tonight. I think that publicly announcing this via Facebook etc. is such a great idea, who knows it could have taken much longer to locate her.

I feel for the girl because she needs help, either serious counseling for her or a lot of community service. She obviously seeks attention. She has school guidance couselors, teachers, to talk with. Glad FB helped. How did she have the money to travel around. I'd want my child home, but as a parent after this I'd walk her to the front door of the school and pick her a$$ up everyday now because u can't trust her. How come we don't have details.

Why do you feel that you're entitled to details?

Trust in the fact that not much work was done by m.p.d.to get her home she smartened up and listened to her friends that told her there were masses of people looking for her...she found herself and needs to do some soul searching she hasn't had the easiest life from what I've heard but this is a chins situation...a week on the run partying with losers cost the city a few bucks but hey shes alive and thats what matters...good luck to her family shes got plenty more than that left in her they always do...repeat runaways repeatedly run away thats why the media and police didn't go crazy over this..

Where in this post does it say she ran away before??? You ppl are rude an insensitive! My 17yr old daughter disappeared for the day and thankfully I got her home with little worry! But they are still children and deserve as many resources as we have to find her, in the beginning no one knew whether it was a runaway case or not she and a friend just disappeared from school on the 6th of feb! So you are suppose to be adults post comments that reflect that!

@ De. Agree with you. and she has ran away before. .that is why the state police and the news would not put an amber alert and iam quite sure that this young lady was looking for the center of attention..... And I know the family and hope that her and her parents get they need. At the end of the day. It is not funny at all ..... The bottom line that iam glad both girls are back home safe and sound.

There is an old saying that it takes a village to raise a child. Not all children need the village but I applaud those who took the time to care, share and pass along info for this girl to be returned safely to her loved ones. Now is the time for compassion. I'm sure she will endure the pain of judgement everyday with the publicity and opinions of those not so kind.

It takes a village to chase a child down with torches and pitchforks, for sure. A sad, ignorant, petty little village.

All of you fine folks trashing a troubled 17 year old... I'm sure your mothers are proud.

I agree Ann, send her to a detention center or a rape shelter, let her see what happens to kids who think they can handle the world. I also agree she has to deal with the wispers and stares at school and will be humiliated. Let's hope her dad locks her in her room and walks her to school.

Grow up I am 20 years old and I still understand a hell of a lot more than most of you people do. Who cares about the taxes and what it does to you.. this is not about any of you.. this is about this girl and her family. Another thing to your ignorance, does it say she ran away? No it does not.. it is a possibility. But it is not a fact.. Her life and safety is a hell if a lot more important than our tax money. I know if I had a child who was missing I would do absolutly anything to find them.. so to officially end this , and my input, keep your mouths shut and leave this poor girl alone..

Chelsea must be one of her friends. But she is right about one thing the little Brat is is home, not she was ever in any danger in the first place, maybe mommy and daddy should have given some more attention at home, as for Chelsea i think someone should give her a hug she sounds a little miffed. let's move on to finding some murderers.
