Body Found on Commuter Rail Tracks Near Adams St.

Grim discovery made just after 7 a.m. on the Fourth of July.

A body was found of the commuter rail tracks near Adams Street in Malden, according to police radio transmission.  Malden Police referred the matter to the MBTA, which has taken the lead in the investigations.

According to MBTA spokesperson Lydia Rivera, the body of a man trespassing on the tracks was found about a quarter-mile away from Malden Center station. It does not appear he made contact with a train.

As of 9:30 a.m., there were no reported delays on the commuter rail Haverhill Line or Orange Line. The commuter rail is operating on a Saturday Schedule, with a delayed final outbound trip, and the Orange Line is operating on an enhanced Sunday schedule.
