Armed Robbery Near Oak Grove T Stop

A gun was reportedly shown to a victim, according to scanner reports.

Update: Police have arrested two suspects.

Original story: Multiple sources have reported an armed street robbery around 11 a.m. near the Oak Grove T station, citing unofficial police scanner transmissions.

According to As Malden Turns, police are looking for a tan colored Mitsubishi Diamante, with two females in the front seat.

A male in his late 20s to early 30s allegedly threatened the victim with a gun and fled in the direction of Glen Rock.

It is unclear what, if anything, the suspects allegedly stole.

An email seeking more information has been placed with the Malden Police Department. Official info will come as it is made available.

I thought crime was down in Malden? Did the Mayor lie to us again? Don't seem like crime has reduced in the least bit. Good thing we have money to move City Hall and the DPW. If only we had money to add additional officers and do more patroles.

Its not the Mayor's fault he's stepped into an out of control city. Its been going on a long time the crime and there are more people that are computer savy now to connect what is happening. The city has been mismanaged in the past so this is what happeneds.

Happy New Year everybody. And the David the buck stops where? He has been in a year. Making excuses is for someone we voted in is not going to help. Time for another Crime meeting. Not. Time for some darn real action but Apple has it right he is more interested in a new City Hall and new DPW. Priority is Crime Crime Crime and more Crime. We have never had this many shootings that I can ever remember. Do something real not just taking pictures having meetings.

The phantom Chief Holland is expected to retire this month, let's see what Gary does with the vacancy. I'd like to see a new Chief, more officers, more plate readers, more cameras, Shot Spotter, and a renovated *ACTIVE* website to get the community's 1,000's of eyes involved for free in 2013.

And here's something that will get me nasty comments: a one year Stop and Search program for previously convicted criminals in the City. If police can positively ID a person walking down the street as someone they've previously arrested, the Police should be able to give them a NYC patdown for no reason other than "looking suspicious". Sweat these people out of the City.

As much as I don't hate that idea, I think that's illegal.

The fact that you said your comment "will get me nasty comments" means you already know it's a silly idea, so I digress.

The city wide sweeps produced nothing and changed nothing. The priority of this Mayor is out of sync with what is important to the residents of the city. New city hall, new DPW site, wow, it all looks nice and pretty so things in Malden must be great. If this continues and someone new decides to run against him then the people of the city have to do the right thing. If they keep voting him back then we have no one to blame but ourselves.

The mayor should sit down with the front line officers and listen to their concerns and ideas on how to fight crimes. These officers deal with the people on the streets on a daily basis. I am sure the info he's been getting from the Chief or the police administrator are all filtered. I would like to see a street cop at the meeting, not a high ranking officer.

Anyone notice that the Kinnon fanboys and girls won't stop mentioning the DPW in articles about crime?
