A Cool Night, Lt. Gov Visit and Free Parenting Workshop

1. It's a cold, cold night: Wednesday will be mostly sunny with highs in the mid-60s, accompanied by northwest winds around 15 to 20 miles per hour. There will also be a 60 percent chance of rain, which should drop to near zero by the afternoon.
Look out – this evening's lows will drop to the upper 30s, and could offer gusts as high as 30 miles per hour.
2. Be on your best behavior: Lt. Gov. Tim Murray will be at Malden High School this morning to make “an announcement relative to college and career planning resources for all Massachusetts students,” according to a press release from the governor's office. His remarks are scheduled to begin at 8:45 a.m.
3. Title 1 presentation: Parents are invited to come have coffee and learn how to support their children at home during this free parent workshop at 8:15 a.m. Wednesday at Linden School. This week's workshop is titled “Beyond Praise: Building Character and Increasing Resiliency.”
4. Fabric Art Classes: Cathy Granese will lead a free class on sewing, quilting and other fabric projects starting at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Malden Senior Center.
5. Last days for Topsfield Fair: Next Monday will be the last day of the Topsfield Fair, but you can still visit anytime between the hours of 10 a.m. and 11 p.m. at the Fairgrounds on Route 1 in Topsfield. Tickets range from $10 to $12.
