Today is Monday, April 11. Here are five things you need to know:

A meteorological grab bag: There’s a little of everything in today’s forecast: Rain, thunder, fog, sunshine, and temperatures in the mid to upper 70’s.

One step closer to Pro Baseball in Malden? National Grid has pulled the necessary permits to begin expanding its Medford Street site to accommodate all of its Malden operations. That would mean abandoning operations at the corner of Commercial and Centre Streets. A private group has been working for years to secure the lot and build at $45 million independent league baseball stadium there. Is it a done deal? Not even close. But it does move the project one step closer to viability, and is worth watching.

In the Name of the…Sister: This week’s Senior Center Monday Movie is “The Conviction,” starring Hillary Swank as a woman fighting to get her wrongfully convicted brother out of prison. The show starts at 11 a.m.
