Salvation Army 70 Turkeys Short This Year

The Salvation Army is known for helping those in need during the holidays. But that is only possible when the community supports us.  Right now, we need turkeys.

The Salvation Army serving Malden, Medford, Melrose and Everett is in the midst of trying to fulfill the requests of almost 200 complete turkey dinners with a goal of obtaining 70 more turkeys for Thanksgiving food boxes.  The drive runs through November 20th at 1 PM. We specifically need 64 turkeys between 12-14 pounds and 6 turkeys 14 pounds or larger.

Donations of turkeys are still very much needed and can be dropped off at Anthony’s in Malden 7 days a week from 8:00 AM-4:00PM. The procedure is simple. You purchase a turkey and bring it to Anthony’s. When you arrive there, go into the lounge area and let them know you’re donating a turkey to The Salvation Army. They will then take your name and phone number and mark the turkey for us.

Monetary donations are also accepted and often are a more efficient way to go. If you’d like to make a monetary donation then you may write a check and either drop it in the mail or drop it off at our headquarters located at 213 Main Street in Malden. Please make checks payable to The Salvation Army and please write on the check that it is specifically for a Thanksgiving Turkey.

If you have any questions or would like to speak to us please call 781-324-1970.

Mark them clearly. The Knights of Columbus also store the turkeys we purchase at Anthony's for the Bread of Life.

Who fought for the rights of those turkeys? A senseless slaughter!

THANKS so much to the Malden Patch (Chris Ceasar) and the awesome communities we serve for stepping up and helping us gather all the turkeys needed. We appreciate the support.

God bless you all!
