Pioneer Charter School Students Help Malden Girl With Cancer
Students at the Pioneer Charter School of Science in Everett wanted to help Malden’s Karina Xavier. They were very excited to present Karina a check from their fundraising efforts to help her with her cancer treatments.
The students raised a little over $700 after the student body held a bake sale and held a dress down day, in which all students paid a fee to dress down (without their uniforms), and some even donated a little extra as well.
This was after a student, Kemerline Kaltofen, collected a bag full of Poland Spring caps before she and the school it was a hoax. They were heartbroken when they found out but the students rallied and they went onto have the bake sale as a fundraiser.
