Friends of the Malden Public Library held a successful shredding fundraiser Saturday, October 27th with Highland Shredding of Woburn donating shredding services.  Shredding financial and other sensitive documents is an important practice to prevent identify theft.  Area residents were encouraged to bring grocery bags of paper to be shredded on site by the Highland Shredding truck for $5/bag to benefit the Friends.  Money raised by the Friends contributes to Malden Library programs.  Pictured are Highland Shredding President Harold Paicopolos, Mayor Gary Christenson, Friends President Therese Perkins, volunteer Mike Guarino, and Friends Treasurer Louise Fassett.
